Code Enforcement: is the prevention, detection, investigation and enforcement of violations of statutes or ordinances regulating public health, safety, health & welfare, building standards, land-use, or municipal affairs.

Lot Maintenance
Highlights:
- Property owners/occupants shall maintain and keep lawns, shrubbery, accessory uses and residential structures in reasonably attractive condition. Lots, driveways and parking areas which are visible from the street must remain free of debris, weeds, dead trees, trash, garbage.
- Owners/occupants of property shall not permit weeds or grass to grow to a height exceeding ten (10) inches.
- Any shrubbery, trees, signs and fences within ten feet of any street corner shall be cut or trimmed to a height of not more than 30 inches from the ground by the owner/occupant of the property.
- It is unlawful for the owner/occupant of a residential building, structure or property to utilize the premises for the open storage of any abandoned appliance, glass, tools, commercial equipment or building material, except those being applied to the property pursuant to a current building permit.

Parking
Highlights:
- Parking on the streets of the city shall be restricted to operable, validly registered, passenger vehicles and passenger vehicle sized or smaller commercial vehicles, except for trailers of any kind.
- Parking on any residential street should only occur after all available off-street parking has been filled.
- Vehicles prohibited from parking upon the streets of the city include, but are not limited to: buses, tractors, recreational vehicles, step vans, dump trucks, & trailers of any kind.
- Vehicles parked on residential or commercial property must not be parked on any surface other than a prepared surface (no parking on grass or dirt).

Unnecessary Noise
Highlights:
- The creating of any unreasonably loud, disturbing and unnecessary noise within the limits of the city is prohibited.
- Unnecessary noise includes but is not limited to:
- Construction work., other than between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.
- Music. The playing of any radio, phonograph or any musical instrument in such a manner as to annoy or disturb the quiet, comfort or repose of persons, particularly during the hours between 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m.
- Voices. Yelling, shouting, hooting, whistling or singing on the public streets, particularly between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m.
- Barking dog that makes noise continuously for a period of ten minutes, or barks intermittently for one-half hour or more to the disturbance of any person at any time of day or night.

Highlights:
- The owner of any animal or anyone having an animal in his or her possession must ensure that reasonable precautions are taken to prevent the animal from leaving, while unattended, the real property limits of its owner, possessor or custodian.
- The owner of any animal or anyone having an animal in his or her possession must keep the animal under restraint and control at all times while the animal is off the real property of the owners, possessor or custodian.

Tree Permit
Highlights:
- The removal or destruction of any Landmark Tree or any land disturbing activity which could result in damage to root structure in the Critical Root Zone of any Boundary Tree shall require a Tree Removal Permit.
- A Hazardous Tree may be removed without a Tree Removal Permit; however, should it be determined that any tree so removed was not a Hazardous Tree, the provisions of this article shall be applied regarding the removal of such tree.
- Nothing in this article shall prohibit or restrict normal tree maintenance.

- No new construction, or renovations shall be made without first obtaining a building permit from the city.
